Hey again, folks! It was long time no see! Hope you're doing alright because I'm doing alright :) Today, I'm going to share a super great experience that I had with my precious partner, namely Sude Filiz. Firstly, the task we were working on was preparing a 90-minute duration podcast which is about creating a sound-rich story. That's what we did already because we used 13 sound effects! Also, its name is "An Eerie Laughter".
During the process, we first brainstormed the plot of the story and we came up with an idea of story draft including 5 chosen words as we were ordered by our instructor. The harshest part was that we had a difficult time finding the suitable app for recording the 90-minute story and adding the 13 different sound effects flowing smoothly inside the story. Also, my partner was out of Istanbul at the weekend and we couldn't do it online. That's why we did the recoring face-to-face. However, we recorded our story after all and added 13 sound effects that we found from the site "Epidemic Sounds". This app is really useful and it eased the process. By the way, here is the link by which you can reach our wonderful podcast.
Now, let's come to my opinion. I would highly recommend my future students listening to podcasts both in the field of ELT and authentic podcasts, but most importantly creating their own podcasts through guiding them aidingly. It was a really enjoyable task for me and I had fun with my partner. It was a collaborative, creative, and thought-provoking task for us. However, you should be prepared in terms of your content draft and the apps and sound effects, even the setting you're recording because the place you're recording shouldn't be noisy, echoing, etc. If you don't get prepared appropriately, the task would turn into a huge nightmare.
Anyways, that's all I can say about podcasting and my super great experience with my partner. Hope you'll stay safe, folks! Take care!
